Hi,
I find reading you very interesting, due to the amount of (and large scale of) information you provide. I was in that train a few weeks ago, and even more than the technical aspects of the railway, what stroke me was the (in fact, as you will know better than I, very typical) emphasis on its linking to National Pride and related themes. If you're interested in these issues, as I am, yuo may want to "chequear" my blog: http://davidjo.wordpress.com - it is at present in French only, but I'm looking forward to having it bilingual (Français/Castellano). Hablamos.
