Quite a story - last week in preparation for my trip to Peru in 2 weeks I had a look at the Peru Curriculum document - as an educationa professional I was pleasantly suprised by the quality and detail of the 350 page document. In truth this is not an education that can be provided by the unqualified. As an ex school inspector I am just pleased that my career was with passive english teachers, although it did not always seem so at the time!

Hi. I am João Duro and i am a portuguese student. I went in shock today (14/7/2008) when i saw in my local news the protests against the new decision of the government. If they want to reform the education system the easiest way is to evaluate the teachers. Now they should invest in their education, inserting them in a program that will give them the ability to teach with some quality. Only the ones that don't want to participate in such program, should be fired, and other persons with more qualifications should substitute them.

Good coverage of the event Stuart !!
