So I went to El Fayke Piurano on saturday. The ceviche was good, not the best I’ve had but good. But the arroz con mariscos was excellent, I was actually sad that I couldn’t finish it.

By the way, apparently there’s a “Fayke” too in Rosa Toro street. I think next time I’m gonna go there and see if the food is as good.

Wow, after this post, I’m almost embarrassed that I’ve never heard of El Fayke. Definitely moving it to the top of my “to go” restaurant list.

By the way, I didn’t know about the Guinness record, though it makes perfect sense. Everywhere you go in Peru, you have a different dish to try.

Makes me feel proud 😀

Hola Stuart!
I am a peruavian married to a Brit (currently living in England) and I just love your blog It’s so interesting and varied. Reading your post about El Fayke Piurano it just made my mouth water! I could remember all those delicious foods and flavours from my country.
I wanted to ask you what type of fish you think it would be good to make a good ceviche here. I have to admit I haven’t been adventurous enough to cook any other fish than salmon but I don’t think that one would work well. I would appreciate your feedback on this, please.
