Oechsle fue una tienda que marcó toda una época que lamentablemente ya no existe. Oechsle tuvo que morir a la fuerza (al igual que todas las demás tiendas del retail peruano como Monterrey, Scala Gigante, Galax, Todos, Tia) por todo lo que tuvo que enfrentar (terrorismo, hiperinflación, un caos total de fines de los 80’s y comienzos de los 90’s).

Sin embargo, nos dejó un recuerdo muy fuerte e imborrable para los que tuvimos la suerte de conocerla, y justamente esa evocación de una parte de nuestras vidas fue aprovechada de la peor manera por Interbank y a su tienda departamental que pudo haber tenido cualquier nombre, le puso Oechsle iniciando otra etapa para ese nombre tan cargado de nostalgia.

La primera tienda ya descansa en paz, hoy vive otra muy diferente con su mismo nombre, un nombre, que lamentablemente, no marcará ninguna época como si lo hizo la original.

I belong to the Oeschle family. Just wanted to say that the rights for the Oeschle brand was never bought by the group as stated above. They just took the name and are using the family history for their own benefit, it’s a shame…

What a great post!!!

I’m not Peruvian, but live here for nearly 4 years now. Since Oechsle is in Lima I prefer the half hour drive to Lima Centro instead of shopping at Ripley or Saga around the corner. Peru needs more companies like this.

Would you might if I publish at least part of your post on my web site http://www.limaeasy.com. I extend the shopping section of my site soon and this is exactly what I wanted to introduce Oechsle.

Finally. This is what Peru needs, more Peruvian businesses supporting Peru’s economy instead of the foreign, corporate “conquistadores” that come in to pillage profits that don’t benefit Peru in the long term.
